transport logistic 2013: Biggest ever show since launch
The 2013 edition of the world´s biggest trade show for logistics,
mobility, IT and supply chain management, which closes today in Munich,
attracted a record 53,000 trade visitors. A further rise in
international scope was also noticeable at this year´s show
– around 45 percent of the exhibitors came from outside Germany,
and almost 40 percent of the visitors.
The significance of this trade exhibition for the logistics industry
was underlined by Germany´s Minister of Transport, Dr. Peter
Ramsauer, during the opening ceremony: "This is a global gathering,
because logistics is the flywheel of the economy, not just in Germany.
This trade show has proven to be a real engine for growth." His
colleague from Luxembourg, Etienne Schneider, Minister of the Economy
and Foreign Trade, was also enthusiastic: "To raise Luxembourg´s
profile as a platform for logistics in Europe and around the world, we
decided to take part in the most important logistics trade fair the
world has to offer. The international scope at this event is unique."
